What does this site provide?
Informational calculators and explainers that convert a spectacle prescription into starting contact lens parameters at the corneal plane. The formulas and defaults are disclosed on themethodology page. Output is a starting point for trial and documentation by a licensed eye-care practitioner. It is not a diagnosis, a fitting, or a prescription, and it creates no doctor–patient relationship.
What use is acceptable?
- Use the calculators for education, training, and clinical starting points that a licensed practitioner then verifies on eye.
- Do not order or dispense lenses from calculator output alone, and do not present output to a patient as a prescription.
- Do not misrepresent this site as OptiExpert, simplifit, FittingHub, or any manufacturer tool, and do not present it as endorsed by them.
- Do not disrupt the site, probe it for vulnerabilities beyond good-faith reporting, or harvest its content at scale.
Who owns the content?
Original copy, tables, diagrams, and code on this site belong to Contact Lens Calc. You may quote with attribution and link freely. Cited sources remain their owners' work. OptiExpert, ACUVUE, simplifit, MyAlcon, FittingHub, and other brand names are trademarks of their owners; this site names them for comparison and is affiliated with none of them.
What about links and advertising?
External links point at sources and peers. They are citations, not endorsements, and their content is not controlled from here. The site may show advertising, including Google AdSense. Ads are labeled, and the cookie and opt-out disclosures live on theprivacy page. Advertisers do not influence formulas, defaults, or copy.
What is warranted?
Nothing. The site is provided as is and as available. The arithmetic is pinned by unit tests and the clinical copy is reviewed, but no warranty is made that any page is error-free, current, or fit for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, Contact Lens Calc is not liable for losses arising from use of the site — including a lens ordered from calculator output against the explicit instruction not to do that. If your jurisdiction does not allow a limitation, it applies to the extent permitted there.
Can these terms change?
Yes. Changes appear on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
